Fresh Apple Cake: 4 cups diced apples > mix these 2 ingredients, together and set aside 2 cups sugar (sweet apples use less sugar, 1 cup) 2 cups flour 2 teaspoons baking soda sift these ingredients together and add to 2 teaspoons cinnamon > the apples and mix ½ teaspoon salt 2 teaspoons vanilla 2 eggs, beaten > add to apple mixture and stir ½ cup oil 1 cup chopped nuts (optional) Pour entire mixture into greased 9x13 baking pan Bake at 375 degrees for 40-45 minutes and test for doneness with a toothpick *When using Pyrex glass baking dish, set oven to 350 degrees Bake for 40-45 minutes
